About Alejandro Salazar

Alejandro arrived in the US at 27 years old with the intention of supporting his daughter in her education. For 20 years, he worked in the Salinas Valley, first in a cut flower nursery and then as a tractor operator with an agricultural company. With his vast experience in row crop farming, he ventured out on his own in 2019, starting Salazar Organic Farms with 2 acres of green peas and a tractor he purchased with his savings. In 2020, Alejandro was able to transition to farming full time and is now cultivating 7 acres of strawberries, bok choy, snap peas, and green peas. While wholesale has served as his main sales approach so far, he is also eager to explore other channels and new buyers in his own community and beyond.
